Welcome to South Coast Theatre
SCT was established in 2022 by actor/writer David Hampshire and actor/director Maurice Thorogood with the dual purpose of bringing commercial, accessible theatrical productions to venues on the South Coast whilst providing work opportunities for locally-based professional actors and creatives.

Funny Turns
South Coast Theatre’s inaugural production will be a comedy ‘Funny Turns’ by David Hampshire.
The play will run at the Grove Theatre, Eastbourne from Tuesday 7th to Sunday 12th November 2023. Directed by Maurice Thorogood.

Who’s Gracie?
‘Who’s Gracie… ?’ uses the songs of Gracie Fields and tells the story of her life and career up to her death in 1979.
An Evening of Short Plays
SCT’s productions in 2024 will hold ‘An Evening of Short Plays’.
Educating Rita
In 2025, SCT will produce the Willy Russell play ‘Educating Rita’. The productions will be directed by Maurice Thorogood.
